Replacing OEM boost gauge with something that reads in BAR or PSI
How easy is it to replace the factory boost gauge? I love the look of it, but milli-Pascals is basically useless to me when people normally talk about PSI or BAR. Any gauge recommendations? How easy is the install? Finally, what size is the OEM gauge?
Thanks...

IIRC the OEM gauge is 45mm.. I have an 52mm greddy electronic gauge and I love it. It's pretty easy install, however I did have someone with experience help me out with it(but I could prob. do it now that I have seen it lol)..
The OEM gauges leave alot to be desired which is why I had to get rid of mine.. I couldn't read it at night, and it was too small in the day time. The Greddy gauge I have now actually matches the dashboard lights too unlike OEM gauges
The OEM boost gauge is also an mechanical gauge, with an long vacuem tube running to it, I like the Greddy electric setup much better.
Some other gauges that are popular that you can do an search on are AUTOMETER and BLITZ.

not to be a jerk or anthing but .1 MPa on your gauge is 1 bar. the relationship is linear so .11 MPa on you gauge is 1.1 bar, .09 MPa = .9 bar etc.
now if you want to switch to PSI i can relate.

Hey that link is very helpful.
I also feel that the VDO which reads in PSI has more incremental numbers on the gauge vs the Subaru OE. I just wanted to know if anyone has been able to just swap out the gauge part and re-used the OE plumbing.

I got a Auto Meter Ultra Light boost gauge. Mounted in a gauge cup on the A Pillar. No one has done it so it looks really nice. Reads very clear, and it lights up perfectly with the rest of the interior. I also have a Liquid filled Auto Meter boost gauge in my Grand National and I am very happy with both of them. P.S. they are a hell of alot cheaper than most of the other gauges your talking about. And their quality is #1, NASCAR and many other racing leages use them.

Omori makes a 45mm that will fit in the factory cup on the column and matches the stock gauges. You can buy one here:

Yep - I think Omori is the way to go. It's virtually "plug and play", is ever so-slightly larger, but WILL fit in the OEM cup, matches the factory dash lighting scheme, is easier to read (better fonts and actually READABLE at night), reads in PSI.
Any questions?
(Mine should be here tomorrow to complete my omori, WRX-look gauge setup.)
