Removing Tumble Valve Generators?

Hello everyone,
I am just wondering what people's opinions are on remvoing the TVG's... on a personal or experience level.

The two roughts are going with the stockers and using epoxy to fill in the holes and smooth everything out...

...or...

Buying STi replacement sections that don't incorporate the TVG, and have an edged section within the section...

Now thats all well and good, but what about the effects on the ECU, running conditions, cold starts, and what not.

What should this modification include (ECU upgrade, custom wiring, etc. ) ?

Personally I would just get the STi manifold. Of course, if you do that, also try removing the TGVs just to see if it works. That way you can put the STi mani on when/if it doesn't.

Good mod for sure, the stock ECU will not be happy though.

I took mine out, welded the holes and had them ported. That was before the STi's were available all over the place.

I think it is not worth it hacking your stock ones. Just get the STi's. And, there is no need to get the whole manifold. Just get the TGV housings.

personal experience with the tgvs removed: trouble with cold starts. STi manifold is a lot nicer. Cold start issue went away after Autronic was installed for other reasons.

No, an aftermarket ECU, and no.

the autronic was used primarily for other reasons, but it helped out with this TGV situation.

It's all in the tuning. The manifolds are the same.
