Reliablity questsion
How reliable would a 2002 WRX with 300-325 crank hp be if I travel 100-120 miles a day (31k a year) all highway I wasn't able to find an answer to my question. I haven't bought the car yet. there will be not any drag racing going on, perhaps some autocross if I eve find time for it.

Car Info: want a WRX
With proper engine management and as long as you're not pushing too much boost, it should be pretty reliable. lots of high hp reliable(for the insane amounts of power) subies on the road today.

Car Info: MMVI AW WRX STI
I have 38k miles on my '02, with Cobb's stage 2.5 (VF34) for the last ~10k, and stage 2 about 10k before that.
The car has been bulletproof....I commute ~70 mi daily and it's a great highway car, I get on it a lot (long 3rd/4th/5th gear pulls), and haven't had any problems. I expect the tranny to go before the engine does.
It's all about how hard you are on the car. You could have a big-rig diesel turbo but never get into boost and drive 200k miles with no problems. Or you could slap on an MBC, run 17++psi on the stock turbo and blow stuff up. Be smart, have mechanical respect, and it will return the favor with reliability.
