Raw fuel smell
so after driving my car, city or highway, when I park it I notice a smell coming from the right rear corner of the car, and depending if the wind is blowing towards my drivers door, I smell it immediately when I get out of my car. I've done some research about the smell and most people get the smell from under the intake manifold when the fuel lines shrink/expand and when its cold, but temperature doesnt matter in this case. what do I do??!?!?!

good link. all the symptoms are similar. This is the first time in the 6 years i've owned this car that i got a gas smell. Been to Truckee multiple times with no raw fuel smell.
Just lately, it has been close and below freezing here. It is def coming from passenger side when cold. Cant see any leakage though?!?!?!?!
I have pe650 injectors btw

The smartest thing to do is to take it to a good shop and have them inspect it. That should have been the first advice offered by the responders in this thread.
The service bulletin for 2002 WRX's was for some hose, not injectors, and only occurred on cold starts. For those that DO have the 2002 raw fuel smell on cold start issue, LIC can fix it for $100.

A fuel smell from the rear of the car could be caused by many different failures; best get it inspected at a competent shop.

If you wait long enough, they will. So far the recall is only in certain areas deemed "cold enough" and California isn't one of them. Hell even Massachusetts isn't on the list.
My car is an '02 and it smells like the inside of my gas tank until I air it out in the mornings. I'll eventually fix it by just installing fuel rails. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay half of what fuel rails cost for no performance benefit =P.

the dealer charges somewhere in the neighborhood of $600-$700
we've had a solution for this issue for well over 6 years now and have NEVER had a single person come back for same issue again (in regards to RAW COLD START FUEL SMELL). I have had customers come from other places saying they've attempted to fix it over and over and still same issue but I've never had someone come back for it (not to say in time it won't come back but it will take another 5 years or 100k+ miles, and at that point, well tons of other stuff are worn out too, i.e. the car, lol)
