question about helix up and downpipe
Im thinking of getting a helix uppipe and downpipe..
I already read many post about the downpipe and will get that one but now I figure if I am going to get a downpipe might as well get an uppipe to maximize the gains.
so my question is
is the helix uppipe catless?
does it fix perfectly with the stock turbo?
If removing the cat in the downpipe requires a cel fix then do I need a 2nd cel fix for the upippe as well?
And if I am to fool the o2sensor with the fix, will there be any long term effect or potential issues or problems doing this? because the ECU will not be able to regconize how rich or lean im running and the car may or may not be efficent. Do I need re program the ECU, get a utech to monitor the change? Im just afraid if I do this something might go wrong down the road.
I know getting the uppipe and downpipe altogether is within my budget but if I have to start getting other parts to monitor my engine management then I rather just stick with say the downpipe.

yes the helix flex uppipe is catless, thats the point of an aftermarket uppipe to remove the cat.
yes it fits perfectly with the stock turbo
the helix uppipe comes with a bung for your egt sensor so either put the stock one back in or plug it and do the 2.2k resistor mod. For the uppipe you will need to get a MIL eliminator.
by doing the resistor and mil eliminator you wont see any bad sideeffects. It is just simply telling your ecu that the readings are good so it won't send your car into limp mode.
The uppipe and downpipe are good first mods, order it now and enjoy the power

thanks for the info.
so what is the difference between the resisitor and mil eliminator?
and if I do not put pack the stock EGT sensor can I use that bung for say my aftermarket Greddy EGT guage sensor plug? I do not know where to put that sensor, drill into the downpipe or uppipe or the exhust manifold. maybe I can put it in where the sensor is for the uppipe? think that will work?
thanks
also the helix uppipe is about 199.00 US, is the Gruppe-s uppipe as good because it is much cheaper or you get more power with the helix uppipe also it is a flex joint.
thanks

the resistor is for the uppipe 02 sensor, that only requires a little cheap resistor to fool. The mil one goes for the downpipe and is basically more wires and more advanced for tricking it. The gruppe-s uppipe is great, lots of people say it's great and haven't had any leaks. Thats the uppipe i am buying as soon as summer starts (parents said no modding till schools out). As far as power gains, all uppipes will give you the same results since it is just a pipe. The reason people buy flex pipes is because the flex supposadly doesn't leak as easly. It gives the pipe room to move a little. If you are really worried about leaking go with the flex, but the gruppe-s is really a good pipe and will save you some money.

oppps forgot about your egt question. If you dont want to put the stock sensor back in and do the resistor mod you can put your greddy egt in, but thats not recommened. The readings aren't as accurate on the uppipe so i would tap in your exhaust manifold.
