Problems with running a straight pipe and no exhaust from cat back?

There is a guy in the area that has a straight pipe and tip that fits my WRX, I am just wondering if there are any problems associated with running a straight pipe, such as back pressure etc.? Need help. Thanks

Are you talking about a straight pipe cat back system (from flange after third cat to the rear bumper) with no muffler or resonator? Then, no, there shouldn't be any problems other than the noise level will be higher.

The less back pressure, the better. For turbo back systems, the big gains will come with engine management to take advantage of the free-flowing exhaust.

Video Clip

This is only an axleback with all the rest of the system stock. Not too loud but pretty mean sounding.

other than having slight problems with the cop you should be fine.
i know a guy who once got pulled over but the cop didnt even see the straight pipe after he did his walk around.
it does make the car sound really good though.

Hhahaha that's crazy! It made the rounds! It's a stock WRX muffler with the muffler section cut off and some pipe/tip/hangers welded on. Cost me $40 and took the guy like 5 minutes!

Hahahaha that's funny!!!!11111

Hehe, man I guess it's devaluing pretty quickly. I got it for free from Don because he got sick of it, and it took me about 40 minutes to install (I didn't jack the car up so it took me some time to waddle in and out from under the car). When I get sick of it or get something nicer, I'll just pass it along to the next person. The mexicanpizza straight-pipe: the BAIC gift that keeps on giving

WHAT?! Nev owned it too?!
Somebody care to make a genealogy of owners of this pipe for me please?
(BTW Greg, when I'm done with it I'll ship it to you in exchange for some Subaru swag or a Hawai'i care package -- whaddya say? )
