Problems matching Perrin down pipe to Cobb cat back.
Just installed my Perrin down pipe and had problems matching up the flanges on my Cobb Catback. There was no gasket in the box but I used the stock one. Can any one shed some light on this situation? Is there a better solution?

I had the same problem with my Stromung cat back and ended up selling that and getting a Perrin cat back...which is pretty loud.
As long as you don't have a leak you should be fine. You could also get an aftermarket gasket and install that. I tried both but it still didn't work for me. The connecton at the DP to the cat back didn't seal and then the angle of the Perrin DP made the Stromung hit my rear dif and hit a sheet metal part toward the rear of the car.
Stromung told me that their set up was only designed for the factory cat back or a stromung set up and that it didn't work with all aftermarket DP's. Where Perrin said that their DP works with all aftermarked DP and stock. Which in this case it did not.
You may be able to take your car to a muffler/exhaust shop and see if they can cut and reweld some thing to make it line up correctly. May only cost you a few dollars.

The Cobb catback has a kink in it to except the stock doughnut gasket, the best solution for this would be to have a muffler shop cut out the flange and kink and weld in a small section with a straight 1/2" flange. That way you can use any 3" 2 bolt gasket and seal the exhaust up.

Regarding to problems installing a Cobb CatB/Perrin DP. I got mine to install beautifully and there are no exhaust leaks. The final tweeks consisted of a I called Garret down at World One, whom turned me on to the correct gasket. I did use in addition I used a high temp resistant exhaust leak silicone which i picked up at schucks for 7-10 bucks. And last, I wrenched down on the bolts as hard as I could with out hurting myself. I retightened the down pipe when the engine hot reapeatedly for the first week.
