Power Drop off...
Hey guys Im new to the EJ20t's power and was looking at different dyno graphs and just realized that the HP stops rising and drops around 6500rpm. I know the red line is at 7krpm but what is going on at 6500rpm for the power to stop climbing?
Should I shift at 6500 rpm and not 7k rpm?
I went to about 7200 rpm in 1st on accident and the fuel didnt cut off but the car wasnt pulling at all after 6500 rpm

Most production cars make maximum power below engine redline. You can make the gearshift at redline on a stock WRX but the car might actually be slower because of the dropoff in power. The ideal shift will depend on the torque curve of the engine and the gear ratios in the transmission.
If you click on the graph thumbnail for Vishnu's Stage SubZero kit, you can see the HP curve for a stock WRX as tested on Vishnu's Dyno Dynamics all-wheel drive dynamometer (arguably the best chassis dyno).
The factory boost control also tapers off boost beyond a certain RPM to ensure engine durability.
