P0139 code. With all stock cats?

I just got a code P0139 tonight. Code is for slow secondary o2 sensor response. The thing is I'm running all the stock cats. Only exhaust mod is TurboXS axle-back. Any ideas? This is on an 04 WRX with ~15000 miles.

Are you stock? If not what mods do you have done? And do you have an 04?

i have a catback on my 04 and that's it. Car ran fine for about 5 days and now today this happened. I went to Autozone and got the code and cleared it. Car has been running fine now, but after doing some searching on this forum I found some useful information that i will attack on my car tomorrow after work.

Guess there is a .99 cent resistor you can buy at radio shack that you need to splice into your o2 sensor on the blue wire that is supposed to stop throwing the CEL code that our car is doing. Many people with 04's have successfully done this and it has completly stopped the car from throwing the CEL. Basically this acts as your normal CEL eliminator you can purchase from shops.

The resistor you might want to check out is 1Mohm 1/4 watt at 5%

Here is a good thread of people talking about this and a little how to...

hope it works, i am going to try it out tomorrow and see what happens.

I had this happen on my bone stock 2002 wrx.. got it cleared.. hasn't come back. That was about 3 weeks ago. Dealership said if it doens't keep coming back, there's nothing they can do. Could be the beginnings of a faulty sensor, or just a bad day..

If you have a slow o2 response and have a cel fix in it i sugguest just taking the cel fix out.

If not the only reason i can come up with is a bad o2 sensor. Putting a resister and a capasitor into the mix would only slow it down more.

For those of you without cats i have a CEL fix on scoobymods with the correct radio shack parts and a diagram.
