From what I know the hyperforce does not work the same way.
The MSD holds the spark for 20 degrees of crank rotation above 3000 RPMs.
Below that it'll have a multi spark discharge to help with fuel economy and fuel burn Cali Carb approved also.
Maybe it'll work better with the Hyperforce who knows.

I hope the link works.
ESX has the set up in their wrx.
See if you can get the schematic from them.
I Know we can download the install instructions from MSD.
But I know nothing of how the ignition is set up on the WRX.

Unless you convert the stock ignition, I don't think the msd will work on our cars since the EJ20 has a coil on plug setup. It's mostly for cars like the DSM, SRT-4, etc where there is a coil that fires all 4 (or 6 or 8, etc) cylinders.

what that picture is is a standalone for ignition only basicly aka no boost no fuel
when you take away or add timing you need to adjust the other two
just go with a full stand alone if you are going that route

I was thinking the stock ecu will control the timing and with the addition of capacitive discharge but the question is which model to use?
From what I seen is that the wrx is still using an inductive ignition.
It still uses a waste spark, just like GM and other cars.
The ECU is using MITSUBISHI electronics. (WTF)
The coil over pulg is something I have not work with.
But I am sure there are other cars using a similar set up.
Do you have any electrical schematic for the wrx?

Got a reply from MSD,
If the ignition for the European Subaru impreza is the same as the US version the ignition will not work on your car. The igniter and coil are integrated into one another which does not allow for the installation of an ignition at this time. We are working on a system for these types of applications at this time. Bear with us and we will hopefully have something in the future.
Thanks,
