Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

With stronger internals, bigger turbo, and larger injectors, Im sure you could get to around 350whp. Then all the different options of stroking the motor come into play...but then u might start to lose the streetable ability of it some, depending on how crazy u go. Street 350whp-400whp is possible but it will take a good amount of money to get there.

Patrick-

I gotta get a ride in your RS! Didn't get a good look last Thursday. Will you be at the next Marin/LIC meet?

Steve,

For sure, but ur kinda setting urself up for disappointment, cuz that setup i listed above is my buddies....im just runnin the NA EJ25 with AEM intake, Borla header, Stromung catback, Exedy clutch/12.6lb flywheel, and then some suspension. Soon tho, im talkin with Adam about the swap, and the way i do it and how i cant hold back, ill be close to that setup soon after i finally get the swap, i just HAVE to, driving my buddies car is too addictive. And yes, ill be at LIC tomorrow night. See u there!

Hate to be negative, but it's just a waste of money to make that much power out of the stock engine. For the time/money you spend on tweaking the power to 400hp, you could just as easily sell your WRX and buy an Sti that makes 300 reliable horsepower, which would be a lot cheaper to build up to 400+ hp.

But if you do it...good luck!
