more horsepower
I just put on the avo turboworld stage 2 320 hp kit on my 02 wrx. This consists of turbo back exhaust w/ downpipe, 320 hp avo turbo, TMI, Silicone Intake Hoses, and the link ecu. I was just wondering what anyone would recommend next in the quest for more horsepower. I was thinking the uppipe and maybe headers. But not sure if headers are worth the money, or what. i know i could upgrade the fuel system, but after i did that i wouldn't know how or know where to get it tuned. what would be the next step that you guys would take!!! most bang for the buck

You are not tapping the true capability of that turbo without a fuel system upgrade. It's like you added lag without getting the high end. The stock turbo could probably do almost as well. Your fuel system is definitely your limitation.
Even people with smaller upgraded turbos like vf29, vf35, or stock rebuilds are needing more fuel.
Find someone to help you to tune the Link.
Are you just running a standard map someone sent you? Seems like there are better and cheaper engine management solutions available that would better suit your situation if you're not actually tuning with the Link, and just using standard maps.
I bet that map you have is pretty detuned and you're leaving quite a bit on the table as is. You're pushing over 120 HP/liter, the tuning needs to be done on a case by case basis, or you're going to leave either power or reliability on the table.
Are there any dyno shops in your area (you don't list a location)? If so, what engine management systems do they support?
Are you up for some learning with the Link? Do you even have a laptop?

yes i figured the fuel system needed to upgraded, the package came as a kit, so it the link ecu was tuned by spo motorsports for that package. boost is set at 15 psi, and thats max with the stock fuel system. This is my first turbo car and i put the kit on myself so i have a limited knowledge about these things. I live near Minneapolis, MN. I dont know of anywhere that can dyno, how much approximately would the fuel upgrade and dyno time cost. i would still like to get an uppipe, how much hp would that increase things.

Someone with a AVO kit! I have stage one and its great, simple and run 13.10something, but I would like to put an uppipe one and controll fuel, or get tuned, but not go any higger in stages, cause im buying a *** skyline sooner than I think. Need to save cash
but im getting hoses soon and mabye upipe, what kind is good and what kind of fuel controller do we need?
Thank for any input!

i like the kit, i believe is a little too pricey, just because you can get a kit from turboxs or other places cheaper with about the same outcome. The exhaust sounds good. Its not that loud, its got a nice growl to it, and you cant really hear it at highway speeds!! Its sounds sweet if your listening to it take off. The blow off valve is pretty loud too, nice whoosh sound!! I dont really know how i would get a sound clip of it on my computer!!!

where r you located yamaha?? and do you think the avo is nicer then the turboxs? sound wise?? performance wise? look wise?? ehhehee...sry about all the questions but there is about a 400-500 dollar difference between the two and i'm just not sure where that comes in....the avo lookz really sweet and seems to be high quality, but i just haven't seen one up close...like i said before..any feedback would be great...thnx

i live in minnesota, i think the look of the avo is a lot better, has a cleaner look. performance wise they about the same, the turboxs i believe is 1-2 horsepower more, but the avo has a high flow cat on the downpipe and turboxs doesn't, so you could keep it legal. soundwise i dont know, i do enjoy the sound of my exhaust and i have bought other exhausts for my other cars i have had!! the build quality of the avo is excellent though, looks really good and clean. hope this helps
