Low RPM's at Idle with HKS SSQV BOV
Ever since i installed my HKS SSQV blow off valve i have noticed the car idles at like 600 rpms then ever so slightly shakes and the rpms raise to around 1000.. it keeps switching back and forth like that.... Is this normal with the BOV ??? Let me know - Thanks!

what he's saying is you prolly got a boost leak....meaning your bov is broke or not working properly. did you damage the gasket when installing the bov? try tightening up those bolts again and see what happens. maybe your bov adjustment screw is set to loose.(i heard of people braking theres that way)

schafer, I'm pretty sure there are meets in Sacramento. Go to one. There's bound to be someone there who knows what they're doing and can check for leaks and set the adjustment bolt on your BOV. Do them a favor and bring some soapy water or a spray-on leak test solution to check for leaks on the hoses.

Its either a leak or you have to adjust the nut on the back on it. Run the vehicle and spray some soapy water on the lines.
When I first ran mine, evertime i shifted to nuetral, my car would stall. I had to adjust the nut on the back side to correct this. This is stated in the instructions.

I have the opposite issue, My car has always idled at like 500 rpm...never had a problem...it shakes a little bit sometimes though...I just rev the engine at lights though so it's not really an issue.

The low idle is because your ECU is getting a messed up reading from one of the sensors. When you vent to the atmosphere, you have to block off that re-circulating hose. When ever you left off the throttle, like you would when coming to idle, the computer is expecting a rush of air coming through that sensor, which it's not getting, causing it to bog a little. I had the same problem with my Blitz SS BOV, and when i went back to stock, the hic-cup went away.
