JDM STi TMIC Thoughts...

Go with the stocker or the STi. I read a few comparos by different companies and other than their pointless ranting and temperature numbers they never posted 1/4 times or track times. All they could say was it showed more ponies on the dyno but the AM TMICs took longer to cool down than the stocker!!
My advice if it your not outflowing it don't go with a AM TMIC unless you need to because all of the research I have seen by companies results into a Dyno Queen.

after market tmic vs STI tmic
I am going to upgrade my tmic on my 2002 wrx and im going to be running a VF34. can anyone tell me the comparison between after market top mounts such as APS and just the USDM STI top mount. If i run a VF 34 with the vishnu stage 2, do i really need the after market tmic or will the STI one be fine? thanks

if you get the USDM STI TMIC you will need to buy or modify your factory mounting brackets for your TMIC... this was also another concern of mine and why I'm looking for a JDM one. The JDM one (unlike the USDM one) mates up perfectly to the WRX mounting locations. The JDM STI one is also slightly larger than the USDM STI TMIC.
you actually don't "NEED" to upgrade the TMIC if you get a VF34 it's just a good idea. I am running a VF30 and have been using the stock TMIC for a while now with good results. Also other tuners such as cobb likes to tune off of stock components. If you do get a larger TMIC make sure that you can retune or have your engine management retuned for it.
Also since were on the subject of other than stock turbos you'll need the supporting mods
