You need a tune and a bigger turbo to take advantage of the larger intercooler. The stock turbo doesn't flow enough for a fmic. Your car will probably be slower than it was with the stock tmic.

I know one person in BAIC who is running my old turboXs FMIC on a stock engine (td04, wrx injectors and stock tune) He says he likes it and feels very little lag.

Pulled up the same codes you did dude. Misfiring on all 4 and intake errors. THe first thing you want to do is check for leaks. Make sure every clamp is tight! I mean keep turning it until you can't turn it no more. THose clamps have to be on very tight. Also check your turbo inlet hose. I ripped mine and didn't know it. I was stalling and idled like ****. Also go in for a retune(if you have a tune).

Keep us posted.

hmmm...OK. I always thought a fmic was overkill for the td04.

yea that's why I thought too. I was expecting it to be super laggy but he says he only feels a tad of lagg but better top end.

My friend has an XS FMIC, BOV and UTEC on an STi and it runs damn good. I think double checking your hoses and getting a tune will fix it good.

Yeah, but that doesn't really apply because the vf39 flows a lot more than the WRX's td04.

I know I was just saying that because I was suprised at the difference just a few non-exhaust mods made. I'm sticking with the TMIC and Aquamist.

ok well i got the utec installed but no maps or tuning yet ......i tightened all the clamps down SNUG ...lol and eased up on the boost a little and the car runs good no CEL tiny bit more lag but way better top end and a little more pull midrange .....i want a couple more mods before i pay big money to dyno tune (injectors, fuel pump, header, and vf34) so im going to download turbo xs stage 2 maps and run that a while
