Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

How much Hp should I have gained with these mods?

my guess was the same as wrxboxer4's. the uppipe should net around 5-7hp, same with a downpipe, the catback is around 10hp.

a great beginner, really safe setup is probably:
uppipe (5hp)
downpipe (5hp)
boost controller (20hp) 10 for every 1psi
intercooler hoses (5hp)
pulleys (5hp)

an easy 40 conservative horsepower

I would add another $150 and get an Ecutek reflash. The reflash will enable you to get the most out of your mods, and give you what roughly equates to a Vishnu Stage 1 (minus the pulley). Stage 1 is good for 300-310 at the crank.

I think the tranny can handle the added power relatively easily. Failed trannies are more a result of driver error than excessive power IMHO. You can strip your gears stock.

Here's Vishnu's site, but a few others have the capability, also. Shiv has a reputation as a good tuner.

Also do the grounding mod, if you have a friend that works at a car audio store get some 4 guage wire from them. Or just buy some it will cost like $20, you need about 10 ft. Test show an add of about 4 or 5 hp from this. I did it my self took about an hour cuz I ****ed up the grounding block I was using, but it can be done in about 20 mins if you don't mess up.

don't know the benefits from the ground mod (i didn't notice any), but why not? it's a pretty cheap mod. 4 guage isn't necessary though, 8 gauge is good and no need to spaghetti the engine bay, keep it simple, just a couple of proper placed grounds will work.DF

I used 4 cuz I got the hook up on it, I did 4 places, one on each shock tower, and on the two oem grounds on the engine. I got a little bit out of it, but I think after adding parts that need more power to run it is more worth it. At that point it will maximize that part.
