How much is boost supposed to taper off toward redline?
I know the stock FBC tapers boost off as u reach redline at WOT. But how much is normal? In first/second I can reach .9 bar, but after 5500-6000, boost starts to fall toward .5 bar. Then in third I reach .9 bar and then boost starts to fall off and drops to around .5-.6 bar. Is this normal?
My only mods are a Blitz electronic boost guage, and a GFB 50/50 BOV.

The problem you're having is lack of ability to get enough air into your turbo at higher rpms. While the small WRX stock up-pipe keeps the airstream tight, which means almost no turbo lag, it doesn't allow enough air to flow in the top end. Think about how much the air is condensed when it goes from 4 (exhaust manifold), down to one (up-pipe). Porting your turbo and either porting your up and down pipes or going with bigger pipes will help this tremendously. Your top end will be noticably stronger, with less psi fade. And from what I've seen, the increase in spool up time is almost negligible.
