Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

caveman....at an idle, its not loud, you can make it out that the sound is a bit louder. If you rev it up, you can hear the boxer alot more and the throaty sounds.

The only thing that is majorly difference will be your health if you stand right behind your car

caveman, the smell at first made my health decrease....because i'd stand next to the back of my car and listen to the nice tone....and then smell the great fumes. But after awhile, i just got used to the fumes and now they dont' really bother me.

hope that helps.

I'm running a TurboXS up-pipe, 4" downpipe, and race-cat with the stock muffler and the sound is pretty much stock. The only difference is that there turbo spool whirling noise is much more prominent now. Sounds pretty cool. Awesome setup!!!

It is one of the quietest systems out there, thanks to the huge canister at the back....Plus it looks like an oem piece thanks to the coating on the pipes!
Funny thing is that I think my 5Zigen got quieter when going catless. I had a hi-flow cat in my downpipe and now have swapped to a catless downpipe with a divorced wastegate, and diverter plate.

But it's true the 5Zigen is one of the more quieter exhaust systems out there. It's a shame it's not advertised more. Even the price is pretty reasonable, I paid $475 for mine I think.

Yes, teiva-boy's car is VERY quiet. Especially compared to some of the other cars I know... like mine. The noise really depends on the design of the system, not the number of cats.
