how does your exhaust smell when u got a 3'' turbo back
i smell some burning oil and i smell gas time to time, and i got a friend who has a 1999 wrx and a 2001 wrx (in Turkey) which produces around the same horsepower but, it spits fire, both of them do. and they both have a turboback supersprint exhaust system. why doesnt mine backfire?! it would look amazing!!!
i used to get white smoke in my car, i was told that t could be because i switched to synthetic oil too soon, well they made an oil consumption test and everything was the way it should be. and changed the synthetic oil to regular oil
well the thick white smoke is gone now, but it still smells like its burning oil and sometimes smells like gas.
SO, has anyone else experienced such a thing??

back firing is not good, and so is the smell coming from your car. it seems like you are running really rich due to the white smoke and gassy smell. back firing is happen whens unburnt fuel touches the hot exhaust metal which causes fire to shoot out. hence running rich.

If you have a catless dp which I assume is the case, then it should smell like when you're warming up your car, but not as strong when warmed up. Put a catless uppie and a 100% atmos bov and maybe you'll spit a fireball or 2

Did everyone miss the part where we learn that backfires and fireballs out the back of your tailpipe are a BAD thing, and likely to cause damage over time? Cars that backfire are a thing to be pointed at and laughed at, not admired.

Summit Racing's got that chemical stuff you can pour into your gas tank to make your exhaust smell like chocolate, cherry, strawberry, etc. I don't see it on their website, but it's in their catalog. I haven't tried it because it works best on cars with no cats.
