Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

there are many ways you can go about this.

up the boost with a ebc, or mbc

full turboback system, with uppipe.

ecu reflash.
there are much more, but thats all i can think of for now.

What about just a catback exhaust like the hks hiper and a XS engineering cold air intake?

Will that get close or no?

What is the silicon ic hose? HOw many horses does that add?

One more ?, how many hp does jsut a k and n air filter add?

thanks guys
a catback and a CAI will not do much at all, like everyone said, if u want noticable gains, do an uppipe, downpipe, and catback.....a catback alone will not do much at all...

Just get a stage sub zero reflash or a Cobb reflash.

Vishnu claims an extra 30-35 HP with their reflash

Cobb claims about the same and it's half the price!

ic hoses dont do much in terms of giving out hp. some people have stated that they help with spooling. but it wont hurt to have it.

and the k&n doesnt do much either.

My favorite mod to date is the reflash from Vishnu. May not be cheap but it appears stock and when it comes to power, it definately delivers which is all that mattered to me.

Cobb AccessECU stage 1 reflash. Safe, reliable horsepower gains. $395 and should outperform more expensive exhaust mods.
And since krillz is right, you won't stop there, you can always add a turboback and another 25whp (+50 total vs. stock) with Stage 2 for $20!

Look reality in the face

almost ALL of us said I want 250 crank HP and thats it.

There is little to no chance you are going to stop there.

That said, a stage zero reflash with up pipe

UTEC stage one and Samcos

Up pipe, MBC, Samcos

Up pipe and turboback

Any of those will put you at or just over 250 at the crank

Car Info: Black WRX, X.S. turbo back exhaust, X.S. cold air, and a lot of plans
If you live in a place where it rains, or snow a lot, a cai is a bad plan. I say get something like an MRT short arm intake, I just changed out on XS cai for the MRT one and there is no diffence at all. Also at the close to $250 mark XS sell them at you could get a lot more power from something else. I have their mid and down pipes, I like them, but I would say go with a down pipe that has an opening behind the wastegate. Much better spool up time, and from what I have heard makes more power, because the wastegate can work how it should. Also the Mid/down remove your 2nd and 3rd cat, there but making the car "non Streetable" and remember that ticket starts at $1200. If you want to keep the sound down keep the cats in, so again an MRT with cats is better.
PS I have always wanted to push the over 400 HP mark, but don't think I will.
Have fun
