HKS hiper vs Apexi n1
sup?
I need some suggestions, which exhaust is better overall? The hks hiper or the apexi n1 for the subaru wrx.
SOUND
Performance (hp gain)
Looks
cost
I can buy the apexi n1 for 425 shipped. The Hiper is a little more lavish.
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

The Hyper's tip is larger, and the exhaust sounds is louder, and sound drones inside like hell. Both exhaust looks about the same, and silmilar gains. I perfer the N1 over the Hyper. Used to have a N1, but damaged the exhaust and now running the Hyper. Not going to change exhaust again, unless I have too.

I've been mulling oer the same question too... I would choose the HKS, partially due to the results of the WRX exhaust shootout that Turbo Magazine had a little while ago: the HKS made more horsepower and torque than the Apex'i GT-Spec (superior model to the N-1), was slightly quieter (issue in CA, although both are technically illegal), and had a lower MSRP (I can't quite remember the N-1's MSRP though so I guess this is a moot point ) Plus I just like HKS better; personal bias
I've seen the HKS for as low as $405 plus free shipping, but I have a feeling that that was a once-in-a-lifetime offer that I missed out on

thanks hotfaiwrx: i want my exhaust to be loud. so i am probably going to go with the hks hiper.
Choku dori: ya i read that article that you are talking about. I do like the hks better because, like hotfaiwrx said, it is much louder. I want to turn heads when i blow by someone. The only con is that is cost more than the apexi n1.
Onemore question to hotfai: does the hks or the n1 sound deep, or how does it sound?

Hey '88, if you want loud and deep to turn heads, consider the Kakimoto GT 1.0Z or the Blitz NUR-Spec. They are loud *** ****'s
Of course, they're kinda bank too hehe.

if you really want LOUD, then just run a 3" pipe for a cat back... cost at your local muffler shop is probably $100 or so. (yeah i've known a few who did that... sounds great, but it is loud as hell)
