Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Thisis the 'cleaning' method I was talking about.

My IACV cleaning writeup - NASIOC

Unless you do it this way, your IACV isnt really going to be fully cleaned, therefore could possibly have the same issues. My JDM one that came with the engine I bought was clean, but still didnt fix the issue. I took my USDM one, cleaned it like this and installed it accordingly, and all my problems went away. Mine was idling high, then throwing the code and going into limp mode, but not after I cleaned it this way. Good luck!

Try that cleaning method before buying a new one as they are pricey.....unless you feel more comfy replacing it all together. Costs too much for me though....lol

I did that today since a senior tech had the tool for those two 5 point screws...but yea by removing the motor was way easier to clean the valve housing better..i even swapped the motor from my old IACV so hopefully it wont do it again.. I appreciate your help hopefully this fixes it

Yea, it was eaaaaasy.....also, i used wd40 to clean the insode of the aluminum casing, which then helped the bearing in between the housing and the motor spin easier. Hope it works for ya!
