Whoa whoa whoa...
What have you got against ramen?
Yeah, the SR really kicks a**, it's too bad you have to take out a loan to get it. I'm trying to decide if I should just get the Ion upgrade in January or wait till after next summer and get the SR and do it right. Decisions, decisions...

Probably should have read your PM before I posted
The SR30 is based off the Garrett Ballistic style turbos, which I know nothing about other than they're Garrett and they're Garrett's latest-and-greatest design (do you really need to know more?). Again, it's Garrett, they will be the most reliable and efficient turbos you can get. FWIW, the Ion upgrade basically turns your OEM turbo into a small Garrett hybrid - it's basically all the Garrett internal technology goodies inside a ported and polished TD04 housing.
About the snap-your-neck-back feeling, strangely enough this feeling will actually be increased with a high lag/high output turbo. There will be nothing, nothing, nothing, WHAM! The feeling is the G-force pushing you back in the seat, and these are awesome on a turbo car since it builds power INSANELY fast for a portion of the rev range. Case in point, between 3500 and 5000 RPM on a stock WRX you will feel the same G-force as a Corvette Z06 averages through it's rev range! It's kinda weird because my car is making like 60 more hp than stock yet because the power comes on early with little lag and the hp curve is so much flatter in the midrange it doesn't FEEL as fast as the stocker did during those magical 1500 RPMs where the factory WRX goes from economy to muscle car.

Check this out http://aerocharger.com/ now if i were going to buy a turbo that would be the one........but there's a catch they don't make one for the WRX yet and i couldn't find a contact for them either......maybe someone else has looked into this already or could find a way to contact them.

AeroCharger
What makes the auerocharger system so great? I went to the site and it wan't all that impressive. I still like the SR30. APS makes some nice stuff, can anyone vouch for the rest of their products, Exhaust, Front Mount, Intake, Unichip? How does their stuff compare to HKS or any other good company? Thanks.

It's a variable geomerty turbo, so it delivers bottom end with a fast spool up then changes geometry to deliver mid range and top end, and therei's no waste gate either. This turbo is very popular with alot of the Audi guys right now.....so far it's the fastest spooling turbo out there!!
