Has ne1 noticed this?
I recently installed my uppipe and egt gauge in the uppipe. I noticed when coming up a long steep hill, my egts will try to climb above 1400 F. Maybe this is because of the turbo constantly spooling on and off? I also recently installed safc and tried to put more fuel in at 2500-4000 rpm but the temperature still climbs. I only have an uppipe, cat-back exhaust, and a ebc set at 11 lbs. low boost. I have many questions and would like to resolve this issue soon because i have been driving 55-60 mph on the freeway because of this. Do I need bigger injectors or do I need a new fuel rail kit? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you really need to know the temp of the gasses comming out of the engine. That is why putting the probe as close to the exhaust ports is important. On my car I have the probe on the driver side collector (where cyl. 2&3 join together), its about 4 inches from the exhaust port and driving down the freeway reads 1400 deg F. That is a safe temp. What you don't want to see is 1650 deg F for long periods. Now with your EGT in the uppipe I don't know if anyone knows for sure what temp would be safe because the gasses will have cooled down some but how much is the question.

Thats a known condition for WRX's. Thats your partial throttle/high load condition at which the EGT's really climb high. Very unsafe. That is why it is not very wise to use the MBC without any sort of fuel and spark management.
