Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

i am curious as to how the mitsu series could still be so popular when there are alternatives that offer more performance for less money. the mitsu turbos from the 16g-t88's (greddy brands them as their own in their kits)have done great for years and are great and all but realistically for a "street" car the garrets are such a better performer not to mention better priced. a Td06 20g with the 7,8 or 10cm housings can go for up to 1200 when you can get a 50trim garret or a GT32+ for less and will make more power with a more efficient power band.

when does the 20g come in on a WRX?

when does it start and when does it hit full boost?

i know 20g's on our DSM's fully spool after 4k and we have made from 320whp to 400whp, on our 50, 52, 57 and in some cases 61's we make full spool between 3400-4200 and made over 500whp.

now we all know not everyones goals are that high so in some cases some of the mitsus might be more appropriatte but obviously in the realm of 67's we all get a bit crazy .

anywho, not intended to put down anything, just curious.

I agree. Garrett turbo's are way better. Mitsu's are old tech.

I love HKS turbo line up. Those are absolutely the best turbo's on the planet.

I am going to eventually switch from GReddy to HKS and run one of the 3037's.

one thing though about that, HKS does to the Garrets what Greddy does to the Mitsu's, Mark THEM UP LIKE A CHAMP. We used the 3037 on a EVO we were playing with and the HKS version was $400 more than the direct garret we got and thats including the compressor surge ported cover.

Its only a matter of time until people really start seeing the benefits for the GT wheels and in some cases see why the T31, T350 etc....(Stage 3 Wheels in T3/T4's) are so popular.
