GReddy Evo VS Borla Hush
Anyone dealt with both. I have the GReddy Evo and it tends to drone and the sound, while very very quiet, is rather undefined which is probably due to the two resonators in the center pipe. I want to know if the Hush is louder or at least "cleaner" sounding.
thanks,

wuts up, im runnin the borla hush and i love it. Its actually not loud at all but it has a nice rumble tone. Its deep but quite at the same time. And its prob the most reliable one....

I myself would go for the Greddy between the two. It makes excellent power considering its amount of sound, and is actually quite menacing sounding over 4500 rpm or so. Not to rag on anybody's exhaust, but I myself have always considered Borla to be, umm, not so hot (I didn't want to say inferior... oh wait... crap... >< ).
But maybe that's because I'm a JDM ***** (British and European for that matter too!)

Oh, and one more thing! With the intake silencer removed, you can get a richer boxer engine sound with the Greddy Evo, since you mentioned that it can sometimes make a droning sound.

thanks guys,
I guess with the GReddy i just wish the sound was cleaner so you hear more of the lope of the exhaust pulses. Plus the gigantor tip is slighty over the top.

From personal experience with both on my last car, I found the GReddy to be inferior, by a long shot.
1) Noticed off the bat that it never really fit right and eventually melted my bumper to the tip.
2) It is of inferior quality in material as well. That cheap piping broke on me twice at the resonator, and eventually the inside rusted through and rattled about. If I can avoid it, I will never buy another GReddy product. There customer service sucks as well.
Borla on the other hand, though just the muffler, had no issues with rust, did not deteriorate, and sounded similar enough to the GReddy.
Go with the Borla.

i have a Bolra hush and have been in a car with the Evo. Both have good gains on the Butt Dyno but the borla hush wons hands down. for $450 plus shipping on a great built catback it's really hard to beat. The sound at idle is deep and aggresive. At high rpms and WOT there's very very little cabin noise.
get the borla!

Rock!
thanks all. The one thing that I am worried about is the connection to the down-pipe. I have an MRT that is set to fit other aftermarket catbacks meaning it ends with a 2.5" diameter and a flat flange. The Borla looks likes it designed to use the donut gasket which means I would have to grind or cut the flange flat. Don't like that prospect.

Hmm good point! call Tommy or Mike at http://www.mpjperformance.com/ and tell them i told you to call in regard to the borla hush. they know all about the borla hush and what DP's connect to them etc.
here's their #: (510) 487-4447
Also, the price for their Borla Hush includes Kartboy hangers. It's the best price i've found so far hands down.
good luck, Eric

I love my Greddy Evo, at idle it has a low rumble sounding close to stock. Daily driving is great but above about 4500 RPM's it lets your car breathe really well. I never had any problems exept when I installed it I accedentally aligned it wrong so one of the heat shields was hitting the pipe. Easy 30 second fix, I love it and I wouldn't trade it. Plus once you get a down pipe and an up pipe it will be louder. Good luck on your decision
