Got a dynotune today: 266 whp/ 250 lbs

Hi guys. I got a dynotune done this morning at Pruven Performance. Those guys rock! I came in with 177 whp and left with 266! I'm running stock computer, S-AFC, sti injectors, Upgraded stock turbo, hacked Injen, Vishnu intercooler hoses, 3" catless BPM downpipe and custom made 3" exhaust with Catco cat and Borla XR-1 muffler. Boost is controlled by Granger valve and for the dyno it was at 16 psi. As soon as it gets a little wormer I will put in an Vishnu's EMI adapter and Walbro high pressure/ high volume fuel pump and then go back to Pruven and have the car tuned for 18-19 psi.
Bellow are the plots from the dyno.

Horsepower

Torque

Let me know what you guys think.

P.S. I will be getting a group buy on this turbo, price will be under $800, less $$ for more people.

Thanks,

Alex...

I think all together, I'm still under $2K. The turbo is the key component though. It cost me just around $1K and I'm now getting a group buy going for a copy of it for around $800 or less.
5 or more people.
pm me if interested.

The turbo is an upgraded stock with 16G compressor, larger exhasut scroll and 360 degree trust bearing. It was done at Turbonetics by an order from a vendor I know. Comes with 12 months/ 12K mile warranty and can run 18-20 psi all day long!
This thing spools up at around 2700 rpms where I get 15 psi.
It cost me over a $1K and now that we know it works, the vendor is offering a group buy for 5 or more people at a price or about $765. Email me if interested at amelnik@ix.netcom.com

Impressive numbers, especially considering the lack of money put into it.

Thank you. I alway go the way of " bang for the buck".
I just got my corporation papers in, so in a little while I will be offering a lot of " bang for the buck". I don't believe in triple marckups, so I decided to do something about it.

Update, saw Shiv dynotune a bunch of cars on the same type of dyno last weekend and one guy that has the same mods as me, except he had a VF30 made 249 WHP and 218 Lbs of torque at 17 psi. This was an ECUTEC reflash dynotune. Granted the car was an auto, so add 15-20 hp if you must. Now emagine if that car had my turbo...
P.S. I know now that I need a better intercooler and XEDE.
Also when my car was dynoed, there was no fan strapped to the top of my intercooler like the ones that got dynoed by Shiv.

Update. After you left, John M.'s VF30 Stage 2 (5 speed manual) made 294 wheel hp. The other VF23 Stage 2 made, IIRC, 286 wheel hp. The other VF34 Stage 2 made, IIRC, ~290 wheel hp. All where somewhat limited by the 93 octane we ran the cars on.

All things equal, 4eat Stage 2s typically dyno 40-50 wheel hp less than 5 speed cars. The cars mentioned above did have FMICs but that has been shown to be of little (perhaps 10 whp) gain in dyno testing conditions.

Cheers,
shiv

So what this means is if my car were to be tuned by you like those guys, I'd be making over 300 WHP, or more with FMIC.
I like that. Say are you planning on coming back sometime in the future? I'd be very intersted in getting an XEDE with you magic touch applied. ;-)

Fantastic numbers for a price tag less than 2G's. Did the cost you stated include the labor or was that just for the parts?

As an aside, I just got an '03 WRX and was looking for some more power for it. I have an S2000 (hold you applause/fire) and I can get around 300 WHP for 4-5G's, but did not want to spend that kind of cash just yet. If you can get mid to upper 200's for half that, then I would definitely be interested.

Chris
Hi Chris, I am a firm believer in bang for the buck. The price on my mods was mostly parts, only the exhaust part I paid labor for. I like to do everything myself and there are very few people that I would trust my car to. Now after watching Shiv at work, I would wholehartedly trust my car to him. Next week I will drop in emi adapter and fuel pump and turn up the boost and then I will schedule another tuning session at Proven. I want 300 WHP, and while it's so much easier with proper management, I know I can do it with S-AFC and stock computer. Now when I have XEDE, well I may have to get some spare pants... ;-)
This turbo spools up sooner then VF30 as well. So if you want stock look and power, this is your best choice for the money and if you have ECUTEC, UTEC, XEDE, well you will enjoy it very much.
