its normal think about it when you tap your manifold with an egt isnt 1450 deg F considered normal??? that is damn hot i thin anything would glow at that heat

if you would redline a NA car long enough it will even make the muffler glow red

i know because i saw this happen last weekend when a girl ran off the road and the throttle was stuck wide open but she was ok

remember that the energy from the exhaust which is pressure and heat is transformed into energy to compress the intake charge

Ooh that RB26 is lovely. But yeah, you should definately get an uppipe, it would help alot in reducing the EGT's. You dont want the cat breaking up when it gets too hot and have the bits and pieces get sucked into the turbo.

I was thinking the same thing when I was examining the engine. Why couldn't subaru use the catless up pipe like the STi has?!
