For example, when I went on a cruise with a bunch of mach1's and we stopped after a really hard drive (part of it was down hill) to let the cars cool off. There was smoke coming from the brakes. All of the guys brakes after that drive, felt a little different. They all have new brake pads

WRXTAXI owns an 02 WRX and we Rallyed up a nice 30-40 second curvy road and when we pulled over at the next gas station his turbo was also glowing. It's from being at high boost an extended amount of time.
