Oh? I didn't realize that they'd warp so easily. I always thought that the glow would just start glazing the pads onto the rotors... Guess I learn something new everyday. But seriously, I don't see this as much of problem...

I guess I mispoke, it's not the rotors that have problems its the pads. It's not like the brakes warp easily, but when they start to glow is usually a bad sign For example, when I went on a cruise with a bunch of mach1's and we stopped after a really hard drive (part of it was down hill) to let the cars cool off. There was smoke coming from the brakes. All of the guys brakes after that drive, felt a little different. They all have new brake pads

Ah, so I thought. Indeed it is the pads that get turned to mush, not the rotors
Thanks for the clarification!

Hmm, I'm definitely going to have to pop the hood after my next 85 mph highway trip. Can you see it even with the stock heatshield in place?

WRXTAXI owns an 02 WRX and we Rallyed up a nice 30-40 second curvy road and when we pulled over at the next gas station his turbo was also glowing. It's from being at high boost an extended amount of time.

Good info, thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time we go mashing it
