GFB BOV benefits
I am just curious as to what a GFB WRX stealth FX BOV does to increase the hp and tourque in a 2003 WRX. Does anybody know the answer. Also what is a good MBC to get....
Does the Stealth FX fit a 04 WRX?

bov's do not give u any gains when it comes to power. however i have read elsewhere that it helps you spool your turbo a little faster, and on top of that it gives the famous "woosh" or high pitched "psssttt" noise, depending on what brand you go with. Brands like Turbo XS, GFB give u the woosh, while the HKS i believe gives you the high pitched sound. I may be wrong, so just do a forum search on it if you really need to find out more. I hope this helps.

i'm no mechanic or anything, but the sound doesn't depend on whether or not the bov is set at 50%. Technically, set at 50/50, the GFB is really quiet. however, other than the GFB, i cannot think of any other bov that lets u choose between 5050 or 100% atmo dump. normally some sites will have sound clips of how that specific bov sounds like. Try looking around, i'm about to go to school, maybe later in the day i can find u the site with sound clips, but in the meantime, i was thinking of purchasing either a Turbo XS type H or a RFL. i have sound clips from a site uploaded to my briefcase, check it out at

it's in the wrx folder. Hope this helps

do u use aim? if u do, im me at azn121184. I would like to hear more different type of bov sounds. From what i heard, the 5050 vent bov are the best bov to get for your car without hurting performance, but i'm also told while running at 5050, it's really soft so they just put it to 100% atmo dump anyways. If you have any sites for greddy or blitz BOV's please post them because i still haven't heard those yet. Thank you

That is what I expected from the 50/50 though. It is a little louder than stock, but still carries the function or recycling without suffering running rich.
I just want to know if anyone has greddy type s on there WRX? What is the highest boost recommended to be added. I was hoping to get a mbc and BOV to possibly get 17/16 psi........
the website is just blowoffvalves.com

i believe on everything stock, u can run the stock turbo with a MBC up to...16 psi's? i believe there has been threads about the highest psi u can get on the turbo before the CEL light turns on.

I run 15.5 on a stock turbo and do just fine. And the blitz bov is adjustable with a hex screw on top. It sounds great, not too loud to bug you but loud enough to make honda owners **** themselves. A good buy In my opinion. But don't expect to make your car faster. Save your money for an up-pipe.

A couple of my friends have started running this one and are very impressed with its performance and quality. I think I am going with it. What do you think?

When changing the stock BOV, what adjustments do I need to make if any other than just installing it and go?

BOV does nothing for performance over the stock BOV unless you've done a great deal of other modifications already... and I mean a lot.
In one way or another changing the BOV to a less than 100% return type is not optimal for the way your engine is setup. Some people get away with it, some people don't. Just like some people mysteriously get bad detonation under the same conditions with the same year/model wrx while most don't.
Pretty much its good for a neat sounding BOV. The less return it has (so more atmo) the louder it will be. Shop according the the sound and volume you're looking for, because there's no reason to shop for an aftermarket BOV by rating performance.

If you look at the picture of the WorxTuning valve, it has a metal ring with holes. It rotates and clicks into 5 different positions 1st being closed full plumb-back and 5th being wide open with different flow settings inbetween. I would have to disagree on the no benefit part. I helped my friend install his and we did before and after testing. With this valve, boost came on immediately between shifts where the factory valve had some lag. I wont argue that it won't add HP but is will make the car faster just based on the fact that you are into boost faster than stock.
