Running catless will make you loud no matter what exhaust you have. Do a search in the technical forums. I remember hearing some sound samples in there.

If you run catless, it will be over the decibel limit.

Very loud and very stinky. No no for us Californicators!
Also, try posting these sorts of questions in the Tech section.

yeah, it will be too loud, and cops will be staring at you / pulling you over, its too bad the racing scene in california is so bad we have to worry about the law when modding cars..in japan and hong knog, im sure they dont have this problem...but eventually..maybe not in the near future, i think police wont be as strict.

Just a word, if you go catless it'll stick too. Sometimes it stinks like hell. Especially when it's cold.

Actually Mike, po-po in HK are even more strict than they are here when it comes to modified cars Every night in the news someone either totals their car or has it impounded by the cops
And in Japan, it's not the cops that do exhaust sound-level enforcement, it's the yakuza (Japanese mafia)!!!!!!!!!!!!

what about running a txs turbo back without swapping out the uppipe? how would that compare to going completely catless?

I have the TXS TBE with RFL muffler and it is ALL catless... it will be installed in about 3 weeks... I also have the crucial racing uppipe... same as above. I'll let ya know how loud it is... I like that nice boxer engine sound... sounds very mean and will eat up small children!
