Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Exhaust piping size, and which downpipe is better, HKS or Invidia?

Nvm I just looked it up. Well what about between HKS and Invidia. Those are my only affordable choices as of now.

a catback exhaust will not do alot for u...

it is all about the down pipe, then the catback..

without an aftermarket downpipe, the cat back will change ur car so slightly, u wont be able to tell the diff

This is a myth. Less backpressure in the exhaust system after the turbo increases power across the rpm range, if the engine management is properly tuned for any exhaust modifications.

if u aren't upgrading the turbo, the hks dp is good enough.

btw u are talking about over $100+ difference in price between the two, assuming it's bought brand new.

I have the crucial one, and have been displeased with the fitment since I put it on.

Another piece of advice: Don't shop for what you can afford when you have your first $300, save up for something worth buying. Get a quality part or you're going to have issues later.

+1 on saving $ for something more desirable. i was in the same position as OP and bought hks. was an ok downpipe but i swapped it out for a helix and like that one much better. Make sure its bellmouth. Hks design sucks and i didnt like it.

I always thought HKS dp was intended more for external waste gate set ups...where the non-bell mouth design allowed for clearance of the additional piping involved?

Quick Reply: Exhaust piping size, and which downpipe is better, HKS or Invidia?
