no it won't work. The cusco dp requires a jdm catback like the kakimoto, fujibusto, etc....

the difference is that the cusco dp is made to mate up to a jdm catback. The HKS exhaust is made to mate up to the stock USDM wrx dp. All jdm dp's are alot shorter than say stock, helix, etc...

interesting... i dont mean to argue but then why do a lot of webpages who sell the cusco downpipe only sell all the normal exhausts like hks apexi and etc and not those other jdm catbacks?

The only sites i know of that list the cusco dp is gruppe-s.com If you ever browse the vendor sections you will see they sell jdm catbacks but they are not listed on the main page. My only guess would be that we are in the US and most people buying parts from them are in demand for a USDM fitting exhaust. Most people also dont buy a full turboback all at once. So when buying the catback they can use it with the stock downpipe. If you really want the HKS exhaust, they make a special edition Ti exhaust that will mate with the cusco dp, it is pretty rare though.

there was also a thread a while back from bozz that was selling jdm catbacks and cusco jdm downpipes. And yes, Davon is correct, the jdm downpipe is shorter so it cannot be mated to a usdm exhaust due to the different lengths.

If you can get your hands on a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) HKS Hi-Power exhaust, it will mate correctly with the Cusco DP. There isn't much point in paying so much for a commonly available exhaust here in the States though. Why not consider something more exotic like Kakimoto, Fujitsubo, Espelir, Corazon, Aqua FSP, or rare (at least here) models like the Apex'i Hayabusa? Not only will they fit perfectly with a JDM downpipe, but you'll have something unique that few others have.

correction, the Espelir exhausts sold for USDM vehicles WILL NOT mate up to JDM downpipes, if Espelir is made for USDM it will fit USDM downpipes, you would need an Japanese version catback of Espelir to fit with JDM downpipe unfortunately.
I asked CUSCO if the Espelir for the USDM wrx wil mate up with CUSCO downpipe since the cat back is meant for USDM dp.

unfortunately now it gets confusing on what mates with what and the difference now being ....does it come from japan for USDM parts or cme from japan for JDM parts......
