Estimate on DP instal?
#6
Yeah DP's are easy! 1/2 hour!? Does this include cutting the heatshield?! Wow. I'd say at least an hour on the DP(depends on O2 sensor placement, heat shield replacement, etc.). I've done 2 of my friends and will be doing mine soon...UPPIPES are the sneaky PITA's. Those take at least two hours I'd say depending on who's doing the work and with what tool access etc. fastest we've done DP and UP install is like 4 hours. I hate that damn plastic shielding and heat shield crap. Arrrghh

Ramps or jack stands will be needed
Cresent wrench or 7/8 will work on the 02.
box 10mm
3/8 drive with one 12mm
3/8 drive with one 14mm (deep and short socket)
cutting tool (dremel or such)
Heat shiled will take the longest. Please cut that stoopid thing into a top hat. It will save LOADS of time on future installs.

About cutting that thing...
Some people talk about "heat soak" from the turbo w/o the shield getting the intercooler too hot. Is this a valid concern? What about re-using the heat shield? Is it possible, probable or a joke? Seriously.
Thanks in advance!

hahahahhaa, yeah take off the total top heat shiled BEFORE you cut anything!
You will see weld spots where the upper and lower portions are connected. Use that as a guide for cutting. It's a little tricky but, just go slow and you can do it right.
