Last tuesday (a week ago) I drove to work in the morning and let my car sit for around 2 hours then I went out and tried to start it up.... and the battery was dead.... I figured I must have left the door open so the dome light was on....

I got a jump from a friend of mine that afternoon and drove home... in the morning the car started up just fine! I drove to work... and haven't had any problems for a week.

Now this morning I go to start my car and it rolls over slowly but never gets started.... dead.

Obviously this sounds like a bad battery... but I am kind of perplexed about it working for a week and then suddenly not working.... does that sound normal to anyone out there?

I also noticed that my mileage display is staying on when I turn the car off... is that normal? I thought I remembered it going off before.... but I've never really payed that much attention.

The car seems to run fine when it is running.... doesn't seem to have any symptoms of a dead alternator.

This is all on an '02 WRX Wagon... has 37,000 miles on it.... which means it's out of waranty :-(
