EJ22T questions to swap into a '01 WRX.
Would it fit into a 01 WRX? Can I put a 2.5 DOHC on top of the block if I can get one? Is there any other fabrication needed to fit the engine? Do I have to bore the cylinders so they match the head? Instead of boring them, can I get a thinner but stronger sleeves to put in? Would any electrical devices in the WRX not work with this engine?
Or should I just work with the ej20t since theirs more aftermarket parts?
Thanks.

If you got the money go with the ej22t, it's closed deck, more displacement and IMO the best motor ever made by subaru. I know people have put the 2.5 heads on the ej22t and IIRC they bolt right up. I'm sure there will be lots of issues if you do it. I would transplant the wiring harness too and get an ej22t UTEC from Primitive Enterprises and dump the ecu. The ej22t has a lot of potential but you'll pay to play. Parts are harder to find then for the ej20t (most can be made to fit) but they are out there.
