dna boost controller
Has anyone tried this. I aready have a turbo xs mbc and was very dissapointed. I was looking for an ebc but for the price and all the whamadyne things this controller is supposed to do. I'm thinking about it. Check it out at subarustore.com.

Do you have any problems with your boost not holding at what it is set at. i have mine set at 16psi, but it fluctuates all over the place. Normally it drops off a bit, can't figure out why. I don't really have any mods yet other than a K&N filter and the MBC.

It has nothing to do with the fact that it is a MBC. I used one on my Talon for 2 years and it always worked fine. Is it possible that the stock turbo cannont hold 16 till redline.

I understand and am willing to deal with minor fluctuations from an mbc. The main question was if this particular boost controller is any different. My turbo xs mbc isn't worth the 15 minutes it took to install it. If I still had my stock boost control hoses I would put them back on. It's that bad. But should I quit trying to go for cheap and just buy an ebc.
That's why I want input from someonr with the dna boost controller. Thier shpiel on scoobymods.com sounds pretty convincing.

I GOT ONE.
No issues so far. I actually notice a little more response in boost. Less or no wastegate creep because on the inlet side of the MBC is a little hole, (acts like a restictor)so you have more time to build boost before it has time for the Mbc to open and let the pressure out to the wastegate.
It's up to you, But I am happy with it so far. And I got it from subarustore also, along with my Greddy EVO CATback. Next, SAMCO IC hoses.

i refuse to believe these expensive mbc's suck. As stated earlier, the 20 dollar Oakos unit is made out of parts salvaged from Ace hardware, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. How can a 100 dollar MBC be bad quality?

I ask myself the same question every day. But the fact is, at least with the turbo xs standard that cost me about 80$. It sucks. I've got about 20 hours total into adjusting it. It spikes in almost every gear especially in 4th and 5th. I tried shortening the hoses making them a straighter path, mounting it somewhere less exposed to heat with the same result. It sucks. I would sell it in fs by members but I would feel bad for selling someone such a peice of crap. When my dna mbc gets here I'll give the t xs away to anyone willing to waste five bucks for shipping.
