DECREASE in plug gap: better driveability?
Has anybody thought about or tried this? I have experienced, at times and have read many posts about that heavy-load, wide throttle opening hesitation or miss upon acceleration. Now TWICE I have changed plugs (using stock NGK PFR6G) on an otherwise stock motor (gapped at .032) and like clockwork, once I install new plugs there is NO sign of that part throttle hiccup. For awhile at least.
My question is: by decreasing the gap to say .024-.028, will this cure it? No I haven't tried it (it is a good 1.5 hr job changing those buggers), has anybody played with different plugs or gaps and found any improvements to be had?
BTW: I change plugs about every 15K or so.
What about BCP6EVX?
Thanks for your info-
Jim
