Debris in Front Mount? Help

What's up all,
I am in the process of installing my APS front mount. However when I pick the Core up and move it 180 degrees back and forth I can hear what sounds like small debris sliding around the inside of it.
This IS a used FMIC but I rode in the previous owners' car with it on and it performed fine. Do I need to worry about whatever is in there shooting through the IC piping and up into my throttle?
Any advice is appreciated,
-Brian

Sigma Pi,
Thanks for the response, but that is what I already did....I would turn it one way and it would fall to one end; then I would turn it upside down and it would fall to the other end but nothing would come out.
Would it be cool for me to take a shop vac to one end and try to blow it out?
-Brian

P.S. I know this is ghetto and all but I just want to make sure I'm not going to be blowing anything into my engine besides air
