Custom Prodrive exhaust

Hey guys/gals I was wondering if this would be a good yet cheap idea for a catback. I currently have a helix catted downpipe hook up to the stock catback. But as of now I have the Prodrive Oval Tip 2.5 Axle back sitting in my garage waiting for install but didn't wanna spend the money on getting a Maddad midpipe or a stromung mid pipe. So my idea was to go to a muffler shop to have them weld on a full 3 inch pipe and replace the axle area of the muffler which is 2.5 to 3 inch to make it a complete full 3 inch exhaust with the prodrive muffler. Would that work? Or am I gonna have trouble doing that. I know it sounds weird but just testing water to see if it would make sense to do so and would it be worth it. Thanks in advance.

Ken

you can do that, but it may cost more to have someone weld you a new exhaust than if you just bought a 3" catback. just make sure they do good work. you dont want your exhaust hitting anything.
