Cobb stage 2 PTB in cold weather question
I have an 02 WRX with a STI upipe, TXS DP/cat pipe and a Stromung cat back with a Cobb stage 2 reflash. When I first flashed stage 2 I was at target boost right off the bat but the car would gradually lose boost after the ecu did some learning. I flashed the HWG map and had the same problem so went back to the regular stage 2 map, adjusted the WG arm 1 complete turn, reset the ecu and everything has been great for over 7k miles. Now it's much colder here in Mo (45-25 degrees) and in 5th gear my car will hit 15.5 psi when the throttle is only at about 30-40%. I can be cruising at 80 mph while going up a modest hill, barely press the accelerator (5%) and the car will hit around 6-7 psi. I have an Omori egt gauge that is tapped at the collector and it will climb 100 degrees pretty rapidly (never over 1500) but I have been very careful since the temp dropped. If I drove like I usually do who knows how high my egt's would climb.
Have any of you experienced something similar and if so what have you done to correct this. Should I readjust my WG arm back to the stock setting or what? I need to pass the OBD II test some time this week and after I pass I'm thinking about flashing the LWG map so I don't have to keep such a close eye on my boost gauge. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
edit: If I drive my car like I normally would and my egt's never go over 1600 should I even worry about this and should 1600 be my cutoff since my probe is located at the collector?
Thanks
Joe
