COBB Off the shelf MAPS bad?

Just got my AP and I recently heard a veteran Subie owner that COBB's MAPS cannot be trusted and can ruin your stock ecu. Is that true?

as far as i know cobb maps are perfectly safe. however they are not optimal for power. a little on the rich side.

I know a lot of people ignored the "use stock intake" rule for the Cobb maps. The maps however run on the more conservative side, meaning that sacrifice power for safety.

Well, first off I appreciate your feedback. I bought my COBB AP from CVR Motorsports. Hit up www.cvrmotorsports.com, right now they have free shipping. Godspeed on your tuning.

ok... Cobb maps are menat as a "get to the tuner" map... they are not meant as a drive around all the time map... it is safe, but a tune is recommended

Hat3r 671, look into Clark Turner maps.. he does e-tunes if you're on a budget, and basically personally tunes your car.. you just got'a get the map.. log it, send it back, he revises.. and repeat until perfect.
Clark Turner has a thread on Nasioc.

Also, John Shafer(tuner from Cobb) does e-tunes as well...
