I'm pretty sure the stage 2 map would give you more power than the stage 1, right? Maybe if you got the stage 2 reflash with the APS turboback, that would be better. But with any turboback you'll be set to go with the stage 2 reflash, and that's what I'd recommend.

I had Cobb Stage 1 and I just got my APS 3" Turbo back installed yesterday (5/19/05). First of all, the APS exhaust is so sweet. Even the guys at the shop that installed it said that it is one of the nicest exhaust they have ever seen. It was installed at www.alteredatmosphere.com and they did an awsome job. If you are in Maryland I recommend them. Now, if you get the Cobb access port and the aps 3" exhaust, you can go straight to Cobb Stage 2. Which is what I did. I had Stage 1 and once I got the exhaust installed I just switched the base map to stage 2. I thought I was in love when I got the car, then I thought I was in love when I got stage 1, NOW I am definitely in love with stage 2. And I am very sure you will be too. The APS exhaust sounds Great, and I have it with the hiflow cat. You can't go wrong with it EX350.

Enjoy it!

I agree, APS TBE with a stage 2 reflash. While your at it buy an uppipe and save yourself some time or $ on the install.

Do you have an AWD dyno and a good tuner in your area? Do you plan on going beyond stage 2? If you answered yes to these questions and your tuner doesn’t plan on buying the Protuner you may want to look into another form of EM. If you plan on a bigger turbo in the future Cobb only has maps for the VF30 and VF34.

I will most liky not go past stage 2. And will probably go with a VF 34 any way. Here is my thought:
APS turbo back
APS up pipe
COBB acceport
APS TMIC
VF34 turbo
Pump and injector
APS CAI

let me know if this is enough to run 12s and if not then what els would i need. Thanck u

If you go with the Accessport you can’t run a CAI, an IC may cause problems and I doubt you will be able to run 12’s unless you find a tuner with the protuner or buy the streettuner and tune it yourself. I don’t know exactly what guys are running with the VF34 maps but I don’t think they are in the 12’s and if they are I would think it would be high 12’s(not sure though).

Info from Cobb’s map notes page http://www.cobbtuning.com/wrx/access...2093%20oct.txt.

For use with a VF34 turbo, STI (pink) injectors, stock intake and a TURBOBACK
exhaust system. Additional modifications such as uppipe and underdrive pulley
are still within the acceptable parameters of this mapping. MUST USE FACTORY
INTAKE. NO AFTERMARKET INTAKES ARE CERTIFIED COMPATIBLE WITH THIS MAPPING.
Uppipe is highly recommended when using any aftermarket turbochargers.
If adding an upgraded Intercooler, monitor boost and EGT levels for boost
spiking or high temperatures.

BTW, I have an Accessport and I am happy with it but I’m planning on sticking with stage 2. I’m more into having a car that runs like its on rails in the twisties than having a car that will run a good ¼ mile.

i am not just going for the 1/4 mile. i am also going to fo with
tien ss
not sure what brand sway bars and links
the anty lift kit
5zigen fno1r-c rims with some kind of tires not sure what kind yet
strut bars
and stop tech brakes

most likely all i will end up with is the stage 2
APS full exhaust including turbo back and up pipe
Cobb tuner
injectors, and pump
and the vf34

that should keep me happy
i used own a 350z and that car had lots of torque and great response so i am looking for at least some of that out of the WRX, i will be buying another 350z in the future as a weekend car.
