Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Can you identify this EJ207 engine?

Can you identify this EJ207 engine?

Guys, I'm looking at buying this motor. I'm being told it's a JDM MY05 STi Spec C motor (version 8), but I'm not sure if it is or not. The seller tells me it has an upgraded ignition system, but to me, it looks like a modified NA motor or a version 5 STi motor with those red spark plug wires and the separate ignition system.

The seller told me the person that received the motor wasn't familiar with it and put the turbo inlet pipe on the intake manifold

Is there any reason someone would want to run spark plug wires to a remote ignition system? It seems common sense to me that the coil packs are more efficient than an a remote spark generator with long spark wires. If it is a spec C motor, why would you "upgrade" to that ignition system?

The Engine code is Not on the timing belt cover. Sticker was removed.

Thanks for your help!
