Can I Make 350whp
#16
:iagree: See post above. 300 WHP is not easy no matter which way you go. 300WHP with a turbo that runs out of breath by 5500rpm on a 2.5L makes about 285hp and 300-310tq. This is on a agressive tune. Show me a 2.0 making 300whp with an 18g. Make me a believer.

no prob. This was the mods of my car at the time of the plot.
93 oct vs. 93 oct + methanol.

Nice chart, by looking at your mod list you should know that 300awhp is anything but easy even with a 20g. Now take the mod list that the OP stated, and an 18g turbo. The 18g is a faster spooling torque monster runs out of breath at 5500rpm, the 20g's trim has the ability to carry it through redline. Now from that perspective can he make that HP number with his mods and an 18g? I'll answer it... NO.

I'd like to see the AFR for the last chart, pump gas as well. Any car with 100oct can be pushed really hard. The OP stated he hit 295whp at 17psi. No info, leading me to believe it was on race gas.

definitely need more info from the OP....17psi isn't even getting the turbo into its prime power area....for any of the TD05H or non-H turbos its either 21psi(or higher) or get a smaller turbo....
I'm currently running (my previously posted mod list) plus a UR EWG Uppipe(coated by Crucial Racing), Tial 38mm EWG, HKS (Crucial Coated) DP, Hallman Pro MBC, & leaned it out to 12.25-12.5:1 on methanol. I'd expect 340whp+ & much more torque carried to redline.

an 18 does NOT "run out of breath" by 5500 rpm on a 2l engine... it ain't a td04-13t.
coolrex dragged 11.79@122 with a 7cm 18g on meth injection. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=997351
clark turner has said that he regularly tunes evo3-wheeled 16gs w/7cm housings to >300whp on 93 pump gas, and that it is his favorite street turbo for an ej205.
the 18g flows a little bit more than the evo3 and will do so at a higher PR before it drops off in efficiency. in other words, it will wake up more with octane, either via race gas or with ADI.
coolrex's absolutely incredible trap speed of 122 mph demonstrates this. that is WELL OVER 300 whp. an honest 300whp (ie, what the vast majority of dynos will rate at 300whp or more) will trap in the 105-110 mph range. this is 122.

believing yet?
or are you just going to deny the facts, even as they slap you in the face?
funny you should say that.
in the op's own words:
so he's running a measly 17psi. he's got an 18g, most likely a 7cm throat, ~800cc injectors, and plenty of cooling capacity with a front mount.
current mods have put him at 295whp by his own testimony. whether or not you think that number is accurate doesn't matter... all he has to do is dyno at the same place (which is necessary to make any valid comparisons of power increases anyway).
turn up that turbo to 25psi where it belongs, enable some good ignition advance running c16, lean it down to 12.5:1, and that 350whp is cake.
a monkey could get him 55hp from 7 more pounds of boost plus 21 octane points.
now, what's YOUR point? 2.0 + 18g can't reach 300whp? 18g can't make power past 5500rpms?
that's what i thought. "Da Da Dee Dum, Dee Dee Da Da."

Miss the point much?

so i just want to know if i can make 350whp with my setup i have a 18g turbo and front mount, intake , mod injectors ect at this point am making 295whp on 17psi can i make the 350whp with the stock block

Frankly "ride" your attitude and tone really suck. Sounds to me like you're the one talking from your ***. The statement "make me a believer", So he posted a dyno chart of a car that has considerably more mods and available octane than the OP. I'm not denying anything. Take some of your precious time and plot an 18 compressor map. Use the VE calculation and tell me when it runs out of breath. Shut your f'n mouth.

Sounds like the OP has a 7cm 18G turbo, but he is DEFINITELY not running that turbo around it's peak efficiency if it is only running at 17psi. Probably a reason for this VERY SAFE tune, but OP would have to chime in for that.
18G's CAN get to 350WHP. There are a couple of ways to do it. Go with a 8cm 18G, add WI/AI, run an EWG. If you don't believe that 18G's can get up to 350WHP, look at the Greddy T518Z maps and see where those are dynoing at.
Going back to an earlier post, Clark is tuning the EVO3 16G to regularly get 300- 330 WHP that is from a SMALLER turbo. Given that this is a larger turbo, there should not be that much doubt that this turbo can get close to the 350WHP threshold.
Honestly though, you would probably have to be more worried about the tranny giving out before the Stock Block gives out. It really depends on how you drive though as there are lots of people that run the stock tranny in the 300WHP+ range and have not had problems and then there are also people that destroy their trannies at stock levels.
If you can't find dyno maps that make you a believer of the 18G on I-Club, go take a look on NASIOC and you will see what that Turbo can do.
