Blitz Nur Spec Racing Cat Back Pipe
I am about to buy a blitz nur spec cat back pipe....it gets GREAT reviews and everything i see says its one of the most popular ones for the wrex. But alot of people i have talked to have said that it is unbelievably loud. I want loud! But some said id even get tired of it, and it would vibrate my seat at 2thousand rpms...and might ever get pulled over for it being so loud....what kind of loud are we talking about here? Are we talking like a nice ambiating rumble that might wake the neighbors or a 747 on take off? also, it comes with this silencer, but i have been told that its bad on the engine? I just want to hear from someone that has one and what their experience has been.

I like it With and without the silencer is like night and day noise wise--I pretty much always keep it in, except at the track. Where did you hear it is bad for your motor? I can feel no difference in power with and without... Perhaps it is only bad in high horsepower applications where it would cause a bottle neck.

I was debating over the Nur Spec and HKS Hiper. Since Nur Spec was on back order, i chose HKS. Overall i love the HKS, it is a little lighter and the sound is perfect. Not too loud, but loud enough to know it is there. The performance overall is noticiable. I believe you will be happy with either or. Just giving you my feedback on the HKS since i got it instead.

fastwrx.com has a sound clip under their exhaust section... I was going to post it, but no sound clip will really tell you what it actually sounds like. You just hear to hear it in person. FYI though the baffle makes it totally liveable, and the ability to uncork it is just a bonus. I think when it's capped up it is about as loud as the HKS.

I had the same concerns about buying a cat-back. I chose the Blitz... and glad I did.
Why?
First - I would pass on any system that isn't completely stainless. I've run sytems on other cars that used the mild steel and they only lastest 2 years each.
Second - If it is decible levels you are concerned with, I would pass on any system that doesn't have a removable silencer. They are all faily loud.
I LOVE loud but only some of the time. The Blitz with silencer in is great - i can still hear the stereo at 10 (stock factory upgrade) nice for the ride to work and trips. However, last night I was taking my boy out for icecream - so I took the silencer out - i scared up more than just a few looks as i rumbled around. It is certainly Loud! Having the option to change the tones will be at the top of my list in consideration on my next exhaust system.
One more positive on the Blitz - DESIGN - only my opinion. From cat to tail pipe it is designed beautifully. The fit is perfect up to the stock pipes, all hangers are in perferct placement - I don't hear any movement or rubbing with using the Kartboy hangers (a must!). The canister is a the perfect size - not to big. The tip size is reasonable but not to large. The welds are nice.
My only complaint is surface rust and oxidation on the hanger posts. Everything else is holding up perfectly.

If you want a sound clip, download my HIN video that I made...the very beginning has what my Blitz sounds like in my car, and also when following my friend's car, who has the same exhaust. We're both catless except he still has his uppipe (I have a Godspeed):
