Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

benefits of using a V8 JDM STI intake (manifold) on an 02 wrx compared to stock?

Some JDM manifolds have TGVs and some don't. Besides that there is no benefit besides the red pimp factor.

the JDM v8 are TGV-less...thats the only performance benefit....I'll be running one on the new engine...it take CobbAP to get rid of the TGV codes...

the v8 intake manifolds are reported to flow more evenly across runners. this is supported by the fact that the v8 engine comes oem with 4 plugs in the same heat range, whereas the v7 does not.

Exactly. I believe it is the #3 runner that is a bit longer then the v7/usdm manifolds. BTW I have the v8 manifold on my car and it seemed to soften the bottom end a bit, but makes up for it with flow in the middle and up top.
