Assistance GReddy TYpe S BOV install HELP!!!
i have a 2004 subaru wrx. i just bought a GReddy Type S bov kit for the Subaru WRX.
Kit is great! but sucks is that there is no plug for the recirc hose!
of course it comes with a pipe to attach to the Type S, but it is very hard to tune the BOV without hearing NOTHING!!!
so it was difficult for me and my friend to see if it is tight or loose.
GReddy's kit comes with a metal/alluminum pipe from the recirc hose to the bov so the air can vacuum back. This quiets it the HELL down to a frog fart!
CONCERN is.... stock BOV setting seems very soft. so we tightened it because my friend and i assumed sube's boost is high and spring might be tight because its for a sube so tightening it might be the best. it vented air and seemed ok, but we couldnt tell it was set correctly or not. this was not the main concern though, but would like your opinons on settings of BOV on stock wrx.
MAIN CONCERN:
car idles PERFECT, BOV (i think is set correctly), car runs perfectly BRAND new cause it is brand new with 600 miles.
I tetsted the car and WOT but under 5000RPM, i only WOT to raise boost levels to adjust BOV. no harm done.
yet when i WOT in 3rd gear i hear a SQUELLING sound, kinda like from teh BOV, sounds like ( Eeeeeee), a sound like the BOV is loose and boost is causing the valve to squek open a bit causing the sound. and this sound is happening on WOT on higher speed and not even on high rpm.
SO we took EVERYTHING apart, made sure EVERY hose was clamped down tight and every screwed fit snug, including on BOV.
After we done that, everything was fine, until i went home and did a 4th gear pull and i was going maybe around 60mph at around 3500-4000rpm and it was pulling and then that damn little SQUEL (Eeeeee) came, NOT TOO LOUD , but you can hear it when windows are down.
I dont think its a belt because car is BRAND new, NEVER drove it hard except today (if you call a 4900rpm, hard driving) and all hoses are mad secure and tight. ANYONE have opinions on what it could be?
Setting too looses?
Setting too tight?
I was thinking squel could be from the HOSE from the turbo to the intercooler, but that is tightened down as well.
ANY OPINIONS OR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
email me if you can also at jjboy1@hotmail.com or carlo1821@hotmail.com

i think i found the problem.
the two bolts that secure the BOV to the adaptor was not tight enough, but how tight should i tighten because i do not want to strip the bolt or the adaptor?
bolts to the intercooler are perfect!
maybe i should just install stock BOV back on?
what you guys think????
