Question APS SR30 or VF34

O.K., I have searched but all I come up with is SR30 vrs VF30 comparisons. how does the VF34 stack up against the SR30. I know there is a significant price differance but what about lag issues, power output and durability? Also is the install significantly more dificult with the SR30? Will an SR30 require any additional components other than injectors and a fule pump.
(I currently have a TXS stg 3 set up.)

That SR-30 is a direct bolt on turbo for the WRX other than having to tune it. My friend has on in his car along w/ an APS FMIC and loves it. As far as the differences between it and the VF-34, im sure that the comparissons between the SR-30 and hte VF-30 would be very similar to the VF-34. the VF-34 pretty much the same turbo as the VF-30 but is a ball bearing turbo. it spools a little quicker than the VF-30.

Good to know the SR30 is a direct bolt on, thanks.
Maybe I should restate though.
The SR30 is designed for higher PSI than the VF34 but will it also give me better spool charicteristics than the VF34? Will both will have less lag than the VF30? I guess the heart of my question is what do I get for the $1500.00 SR30 that the $900.00 VF34 does not have in terms of drivability and what kind of boot do I want to run with only a stage 4 TurboXS set up? Do I even want to consider a SR30 if I never plan to run 30 PSI?
(I hope 30 PSI is the correct # for the SR30 but the site may have been refering to all SR models with 30 PSI being the top model.)

I am not sure of the differences but if you say that the hp outputs are the same, why not get the vf34 for half the price, unless there is some huge performance differnce that makes it worth spending twice as much. As for the vf34's they are very reliable (its a subaru factory turbo). You can get vf34's for around $725.

I had the TXS stage four setup with APS tmic, turbo back, and up pipe with the VF34. In ran great but...

Had to take it all out for the ref! I'll be putting it back in with the new SR30 sitting in my garage. Stand by a couple weeks and I'll give ya a back to back comparo! Both turbos bolt in easy. If you look at them closely, you can easily tell the quality of the APS over the IHI. The SR turbos were designed for the WRX specifically.

check out www.gruppe-s.com

they have the VF34 turbo itself for $699 or if you want STi injectors and walbro fuel pump along with it, it'll be $1199. Definitely looks like a good deal. I'm thinking about it, but can't decide if it's worth voiding my warranty

get up pipe and a turbo back first, still voids warrenty, but you sorta need this to upgrade turbo (i think)

i am runnung a stage three utec right now, and i donno what turbo to go with?... i was planning on just getting a vf 34, but i would like a little more top end without sacrificing by getting hella lag, does the more expensive turbo do that for me... also i though IHI was made specially for subaru, was i wrong?

I'm not 100%, but I was under the impression that the IHI turbo's were adapted to the subaru where the APS turbos were engineered from the ground up for the WRX/STI. If anyone is sure that I'm wrong please say something because I don't want to be spouting off false info on these boards... I hate that.

With the supporting mods like up pipe, turbo back, injectors and pump, and utec... you will notice a huge difference with any of these turbos. It's not all about more boost... it's about quality boost blowing colder, harder, and sooner. Really worth it if you have already invested all that in your motor. IMHO
