Anyone have 300WHP?....
I was wondering if any of you have a "do it yourself" kit, and have gotten 300+ WHP? What kinda mods did this need, and what kind of Engine Management are you useing?
I have 260 whp, but I would like to get at least 300 -320 whp on an 02 wrx
thanks

I should be close to 300WHP with a pieced together setup. I still need to install my header though. Freddie, which dyno did you take your car to? Shiv's?
IHI VF34 turbo
80mm Cusco catless DP
80mm Kakimoto GT1.0z exhaust
STi catless uppipe
Cusco header (not in yet)
Blitz SUS Intake
STi TMIC
STi Injectors
Mazda RX7 TT fuel pump
GFB pulleys
APEXi AVC-R
APEXi S-AFC
Blitz Platinum plugs (2 steps colder)

With the new block and 6 spd, that power level will be higher and come on sooner.

He doesn't need a bigger turbo. You can make 300WHP with a VF30/VF34 with some good tuning and slightly higher octane fuel. It's been done before. But yes, get that header, or at least your stock header Extrude Honed and wrapped. And go 100% catless.
He can already make 300WHP on ATP's dyno, he just wants to do it on Shiv's.
Oh yeah, and dump that Unichip. That thing is garbage. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a standalone, then just get a good EBC and a S-AFC and tune from there. It'll still work. Plus, you have that instant user-adjustability. I just wish they made the APEXi Power FC for USDM WRX's.

He doesn't even need 100 octane to make 300WHP. 91 octane and 1 gallon of Toulene should provide enough of a safety margin. If he was spraying N20, then maybe he'd need the 100octane or C16 race gas but he's not. Believe me, the lag he'd get from a PE1820 wouldn't be worth it.
